Life Story / Obituary
Todd Allen Bittenbender
October 9, 1963 – January 26, 2018
Vicksburg, Michigan
Todd went to be with the Lord in heaven after his courageous battle with brain cancer. He was loved, supported and cared for by his nurses, family, and friends. Todd’s joy in life was his wife Patty, his three daughters Brittany, Brianna, and Brooke. He loved to make his girls laugh, going for long walks with Patty (except in Northern Michigan), floating down the Platte river, hunting & fishing, and breakfast at the Crystal Café.
He graduated from Vicksburg High School in 1981 and began working in pest control and then in construction. His passion was to see the construction projects come to life for businesses and families. On October 27, 1990 he found the love of his life and married Patty in Beulah, MI. They decided to make Vicksburg their home where they’ve lived for the past 27 years.
His favorite holidays were Halloween and Thanksgiving where he enjoyed time with his family, wearing a mask to greet the trick o’ treaters, eating turkey, and watching the Detroit Lions. His prideful moments include: work he did for others, watching Brittany graduate from MSU, all the girls graduate from high school (which Todd attributes to his efforts), getting himself healthy, his retirement job, and his ability to fix anything.
Todd will be dearly missed by his parents, Janet & Larry Bittenbender, in-laws, John & Barbara Sanchez, sister & husband Nolene Bittenbender-Ritchie & Ron, sister & brother-in-laws, Theresa & Vincent Grzesiak, Tammy & Warren Clouse, Kimberly & Joseph Leptich, and Christina & Jason Bradford. He also enjoyed all the family holidays and trips with nieces and nephews: Brandon & Courtney, Heidi & Andy, Nicole & Jon, Samantha, Alexandra & Chad, Alexander, Joesph, and Emily.
The visitation & memorial will be held at Chapman Memorial Church of the Nazarene, 7520 East U Avenue, Vicksburg, MI. Visitation, February 1, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m; and Memorial, Friday, February 2, 11:00 a.m. Services will be conducted by Brent Bittenbender.
