Thomas McKenna

67, passed away July 25, 2019. He was born February 29, 1952 in Grand Rapids to the late Edward and Yvonne (Brown) McKenna. Tom graduated from Hackett High School in 1970. Friends and family were most important to him. He was extremely loyal and still had many friends from Kindergarten. He was a people person with the gift of gab. Tom was always able to find something to say, which helped people feel comfortable around him. This translated well into his career in saleshe enjoyed talking to people and helping them. Tom also volunteered for many organizations over the years. He loved the outdoors, especially the cold weather, and racing his own cars at Martin Speedway. He and his friends also treasured their yearly trips to the Kentucky Derby together. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Pamela Miller. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Debbie (Davis) McKenna; sons, Geoffrey and Christopher McKenna; grandchildren, Dylan, Aiden, Josie, and Jordan; sisters, Diane (Edward) Stacker and Karen (Kevin) Alofs; brother-in-law, Max Miller; several nieces and nephews; as well as his chosen family of many close friends. A memorial service will take place Tuesday, July 30 at 11:00 AM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 622 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49007 with Rev. Jim Dyke officiating. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service from 10-11:00 AM. Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA of Southwest Michigan.
