Thomas J. Klaus, age 71, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017. Tom was born in Racine June 12, 1946 son of the late William and Elizabeth (Nee: Uvegas) Klaus.

Tom was a proud graduate of St. Catherine’s High School and loved cheering on the boys’ basketball team. For his loyalty and support, he was inducted into the St. Catherine’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003. He was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, where he sang in the choir. Tom loved reading, visiting with family, and rooting for the Chicago Cubs.

He will be missed by his brother, Richard Klaus; brother-in-law, Joe Fischer; sisters-in-law, Sharon Klaus and Karen Klaus; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by two brothers, William and David and his sister, Judy Fischer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 8, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1100 Erie St., with Rev. Antony Thomas officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. Private Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Memorials to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church or to St. Catherine’s High School have been suggested.

Tom’s family wishes to thank the many thoughtful and generous people in Racine who offered Tom rides, meals, and friendship over the years.
