Thomas Hemstreet

Thomas Martin Hemstreet passed away at his home May 25, 2008. He was born March 20, 1925 in Kankakee IL. to Bonfield and Geraldine (Sprimont) Hemstreet. He married Doris Neumann August 12, 1950 in Kankakee IL. Mr. Hemstreet was a C.P.A. for Touche and Ross, and accountant for David Bradley Manufacturing, an accountant in private practice with Harry Topping, a comptroller for Manco manufacturing and Roper Appliance Division, and finally owned and operated Hemstreet Travel in Kankakee IL. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kankakee IL. where he served as president of the board and as an elder. He was a member of the Round Table Study Club, member of the Kankakee Country Club where he served as past president, and past president of the YMCA. He was a founder and treasurer for the Society of Friends of Music (early Kankakee Symphony), a member of the Kankakee Historical Society and former Kankakee School Board member.
