Thomas Dimock, 84, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. He was born October 24, 1934 in Kalamazoo to the late Benjamin and Dortha (Ebmeyer) Dimock, Sr. Since 1988, Thomas' longtime companion and partner in life, was Kathy Racz for a loving 31 years together. Thomas served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from November of 1952 until honorably discharged in February of 1956. Thomas was proud to have received a Voluntary Service Certificate for the veteran's home in Grand Rapids. He loved playing baseball in the Cubs Fantasy Camp. He was employed as a chemical operator by The Upjohn Co. for 26 years until his retirement. Thomas is survived by his longtime companion, Kathy Racz; children, Dawn Dimock, Benjamin (Tamara) Dimock, Wendy (David) Parker, Dulcy (Mike) Japp, Hope (Byrne) Harmon and Tammie (Donn) Bonzheim; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (Frank) Veldt; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings, Benjamin Dimock, Jr. and David Dimock. The family will greet friends on Monday, February 4th from 10-11 am at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Niece, Ms. Cindy Veldt-Dietsch will officiate. A private burial will be in Mt. Home Cemetery, Kalamazoo. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army and Otsego VFW Post 3030.
