Theodore “Ted” J. Zukewich, age 93, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Ascension All Saints Hospital. He was born in Chicago, IL, June 17, 1923, son of the late Michael and Genevieve (Nee: Malec) Zukewich.

He proudly served in the United States Navy as Seaman 1st Class. On September 11, 1943 at St. Joseph Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Jeanne MacPherson who preceded him in death, March 19, 2004. Ted was employed with J.I. Case Company for thirty-four years and belonged to the J.I. Case Local 180 Retirees. He was a longtime and active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served as an usher, sang in the choir and belonged to the Holy Name Society. His pastimes included softball, fishing, gardening, playing cribbage and watching the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, Badgers and the Cardinals. More than anything he cherished time spent with his family.

He will be dearly missed by his children, Theodore (Rosemary) Zukewich Jr. of Racine, Diane (Art) Dunn of Minnesota, James (Carol) Zukewich of Racine; his grandchildren, Melissa Zukewich (Duane Michalski), Jennifer Zukewich, Julie (Andrew David) Christensen, Bryan Christensen, Tom Zukewich, Michael (Jennifer) Zukewich and Scott (Heather) Zukewich; great-granddaughters, Margaret “Maisie” Zukewich and Alyssa “Aly” Zukewich; sisters-in-law, Betty Schuit, Margaret Chramosta, both of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his brother, Emil (Joanne) Zukewich and sister, Helen (Lester) Muir.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 2, 2017, 11;00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave, with Rev. Ricardo Martín officiating. Entombment with Full Military Honors will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Catherine’s High School or to the American Heart Assn have been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. David Ross, Dr. Joel Niebuhr, Dr. David Liebelt and the entire ICU staff at Ascension All Saints for all of their loving and compassionate care.
