Thelma Abernathy, age 93, of Portage passed away on March 19, 2017 in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones.
Thelma was born on August 27, 1923 to Clyde and Vivian (Shaw) Burris. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years, Robert; her children: Vivian (Albert) Malin, Carol (Roger) Terpstra, Roberta Abernathy-Zinsmaster; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother and sister:, Desda Hale, Franklin (Sandy) Burris; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters Deborah Abernathy and Lori Klinedinst; sisters and brothers: Florence Chase, Zane Burris, Frances Blackstine, Phyllis Pease, Harold Zimmer, and Clyde Burris Jr.
