Doornbos, Terry Lee 11/26/1951 - 2/11/2019 Kalamazoo, MI Terry Lee Doornbos, a proud veteran of the Marine Corp and entrepreneur, life-long resident of Kalamazoo, MI was taken from us too soon. He died unexpectedly on February 11th, 2019 at the age of 67 years old in a car accident in Kalamazoo. Terry is survived by his life long partner of 32 years Edeltraud (trout), his step children; Nicole Canfield and Jaclyn Holland, his grandchildren; Jordan Canfield, Landen and Anastasia Holland, his brother and sister; Sue and Gregg Cook. Terry was born in Kalamazoo on November 26th, 1951 to Elaine (Betty) Cook and Richard Doornbos, who he also precedes in death. He was a retired veteran, devoting many years of service to his country, batch mechanical weigher at Inks International that provided products to the Graphic Arts Industry, and also purchased rental properties in the Greater Kalamazoo area, and entrepreneur. He was a loving and devoted partner, stepfather, grandfather, son, uncle, and best friend to many. Terry enjoyed many things and lived an active life. He spent a lot of time outdoors in nature and liked to work with his hands. He participated in many horse shoe tournaments, was on bowling leagues, loved to golf, shop, and traveled a lot. He was a problem-solver who often took on difficult projects, and made sure to devote time to family and friends. Terry touched the lives of many and he will be sorely missed. He had many friends and best friends that loved him. Memories he leaves with us will never be forgotten. No funeral is held since cremation was chosen. A military memorial service will be held at a later date that is to be announced.
