Terry Lee Armbruster, age 70 of Greenville, died Monday, December 6, 2021 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born March 30, 1951, the son of Leland and Florence (Sticken) Armbruster. Terry was impossible not to love. A master storyteller with a quick wit and a penchant for bad jokes, he had a knack for knowing the right thing to say at the right time. He was a skilled conversationalist and was always ready to forge a new friendship or nurture an existing one. An avid outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman, he had a strong connection to the earth and believed deeply that humans had a responsibility to serve as stewards of the land. Terry was faithful, generous, wise, sentimental, and patriotic, and the epitome of the Golden Rule, treating others with kindness and respect. He was a "car man" with a special affinity for Chevrolet's, and loved to fly, a trait he inherited from his father. He deeply loved his family, and especially loved to be goofy with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Terry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry Armbruster. He is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Barbie; children, Eric (Marcia) Armbruster of Phoenix, AZ, Josh (Darcey) Gratton of Traverse City, and Andrea (James) Pohlad of Traverse City; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives and countless friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 10, 2021 at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, with Pastor Brady Nemmers of Keystone Community Church officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Greenville. Memorial contributions may be given to Hillsdale College or Mel Trotter Ministries, and memories and messages of condolence may be shared at www.hurstfh.com.
