Sue Frederick, age 82, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on September 29, 2017. She was born July 22, 1935; the daughter of the Late Harm Dykehouse and Evelyn Lynn in Kalamazoo, MI. She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Portage, MI where she played the organ and served faithfully. Sue had many talents and loved to keep busy. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, sewing, miniatures, Japanese brush painting, tinting pictures, coloring, working puzzles as well as reading. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother. Family was important to her and she cherished them dearly; especially her grandchildren: from attending sporting events to being the family's favorite cook; there was never a dull moment. Sue leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 60 years, Deane Frederick; son Deane II (Rhonda) Frederick of Hazel, KY; daughters, Terri (Bill) Pelfresne of Kalamazoo, Carol (John) Schultz Of Pensacola, FL, Deana Frederick of Kalamazoo, and Amy Troff of Kalamazoo; grandchildren: Jessica DeBoer, Ryan DeBoer, Denny Schultz, Julie Schultz, Kara Pelfresne, Brody Weidner, Seth Frederick, Levi Frederick, Regan Troff, Olivia Troff, Ian Troff, sister, Viola Anderson of Groveland, FL; sisters-in-law; Mary Dykehouse, Virginia Parker, Mardelle Pozeznik and Joanne Guarisco; a host of nieces and nephews; a truly special family dog, Sammy; affectionately known as her "Little Boy", along with two lifetime friends Vicki Kirlough and Wendy Marcum. Sue is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ralph Dykehouse and his wife Charlene, several brothers-in-law and grandson Adam Carter. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 5-8 p.m at Parchment Redmond Funeral Home, funeral services will take place Thursday October 5, 2017 at 11 a.m with a 10 a.m family hour from the Parchment Redmond Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fort Custer National Cemetery.
