Steven Mark Sivak, 48, of Bloomingdale, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, following a series of strokes. He was born June 17, 1970, in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Washington High School in Chicago as well as South Suburban Community College and Eastern Illinois University. In 1998, he married his wife Cathy (Behrendt) and was looking forward to celebrating their 20th anniversary on Oct. 24. He is survived by his wife and their children Steven Jr., Jacqueline and Callie; his brothers Timothy (Diane), Hugh (Lisa); his sisters Jeanne Ann (Wayne) Cole, Patricia Sivak, Barbara (Merle) Bartels and Marion (James) Fritza; and dozens of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kelly Marie, his parents Eugene G. and Ann Jacqueline "Jackie" (Kelly), his brother Thomas (Carolin) and his sister Kathleen (Harry) Andrysiak. Mr. Sivak and lived in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin prior to settling in Michigan. He had a long career in automobile sales/financing, and worked at multiple dealerships in all four states over the years; he also spent several years working in advertising sales for Illinois-based trade magazines. He was a passionate fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks as well as any team his children played on; for a long period he was an active horse/hobby farm enthusiast. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and uncle as well as for his offbeat sense of humor. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, at D.L. Miller Funeral Home, 203 E Spring Street, Bloomingdale, Michigan. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m., with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to defray expenses.
