Steven R. Blain

Steven R. Blain, of Portage, MI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the age of 71. Steven was born on October 21, 1946 in Kalamazoo, MI. He was the son of Doug and Beatrice Blain. Steve earned his diploma while he served in the United States Army. He married Carole Rushmore March 23, 1966 in Kalamazoo. He worked for General Motors until retirement in 2001.

Steve was an avid hunter and fisherman; always proud to take his grandchildren along with him. He loved trips to the family cabin near Houghton Lake.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 1-4pm at Schrier Park on Osterhout Rd in Portage.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Carole; 2 children: Stacey (Don) Allen and Stephanie (Jim) Wooden; 3 grandchildren: Donnie Allen, Blayne Wooden, Sydnee Wooden; 3 brothers; 1 sister; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
