Stephen "Steve" R. Koss

Stephen “Steve” R. Koss, age 61, lost his battle with pancreatic cancer, Saturday, November 11, 2017 at his residence. Steve was born in Racine, July 6, 1956, son of Robert and Lorraine “Grady” (Nee: Scholler).

He was a graduate of Washington Park High School “Class of 1974”. On April 21, 2001, he was united in marriage to Becky L. Willis. Steve owned and operated Koss Contractors and later managed ProMillwork. Most recently, he was the inspiration behind Koss Family Foundation. Steve was always giving back to the community from working with Habitat for Humanity, the Wind Point Lighthouse restoration, and River Bend Nature Center. As an avid fisherman, Steve found a connection with Salmon Unlimited to help with community events with the Koss Family Foundation. He could be seen teaching casting to children from his bass boat, The Young Mistress. Steve also enjoyed hunting, camping, woodworking, and furniture restoration.

Survivors include his loving wife, Becky; his son, Tyler Koss; his grandchildren, Dakota and Mady Matsen; his mother, Grady Koss; sister, Sandy (Joe) Bodi; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ron (Joan) Willis; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Momo” Koss.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday Nov. 19 from 2-5 pm at Roma Lodge. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Koss Family Foundation have been suggested.
