Stephen Engberts

Stephen James Engberts, age 80, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018, in Kalamazoo, MI. He was born on May 10, 1938, in Kalamazoo, MI a son of Richard and Allene (Wakefield) Engberts and had been a lifelong area resident. Stephen was employed for several years at Harding's Market. He was a member of Westwood United Methodist Church. On August 16, 1957, Stephen married the former Carol A. DeLong who preceded him in death on May 28, 2000. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Stephen is survived by four children, Cynthia (Larry) Seedorff, Linda Schrepper, Joan (Matt) Tomlinson and Michael (Tierra) Engberts; three grandchildren, Lindsey Damron, Julia Engberts and Jenna Engberts; two great-grandchildren, Jace and Quinnlyn Wilson; two brothers, Robert (Edna) Engberts and James (Marilyn) Engberts; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 24th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Westwood United Methodist Church, 538 Nichols Road, where services will begin at 1 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Wayne Price will officiate. Private graveside services will be held in Gilson Cemetery.
