Sharon M. Nelson, age 73, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Ascension All Saints Hospital. Sharon was born in Racine, December 25, 1942, daughter of Willis and Shirley (Nee: Vogelman) Mahoney.

Sharon was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1961”. She was employed with Dr. Decheck’s office for over thirty years, retiring in 2008. Sharon was a longtime dedicated member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church where she served as the Lay Eucharistic Minister and Sexton. An avid bird watcher she enjoyed her time in nature in quest for a new bird sighting. More than anything she devoted and loved spending time with her family at cookouts and swimming in the backyard swimming pool.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Sheryl (Kevin) Sheptick of Radisson, WI, Shelly (Ted) Mico of Racine, Joseph Cipov of Kokomo, IN, Kurtis Cipov of Kenosha, Brian Cipov of Racine; her six grandchildren, Christina, Joshua, Robin, Matthew, Kyle, Hailey and Nolan; five great-grandchildren; her father, Willis Mahoney of St. Germain and Brooksville, FL; brothers and sisters, James (Joy) Mahoney of Wild Rose, Ralph (Sharon) Mahoney of Roscoe, IL, Jeanette (Brian) Mumm of Neenah, Margaret (Douglas) Dykstra of Caledonia, John (Jennifer) Mahoney of Caledonia; sister-in-law, Marilyn Mahoney of Sturtevant; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Mahoney, brother, William Mahoney and special friends, Wally and Cathy Novack.

Sharon will miss having breakfast with her St. Richard School friends especially Toni; having lunch with her St. Catherine’s High School friends especially, Mary; her friend, Laurissa who brought communion every Sunday; Shirley who joined her for dinner after 5:00 P.M. Mass every Saturday; Dr. DeCheck and his wife, Carol, and his staff, Diane, Becky, and Jenny; the staff at Aurora Cancer Center including Dr. Jefferys, Sally, her helpers Wendy, Stacy, Sharon, Sue, Tonya, and last of all her friend, Joanie Pelky. I will really miss all of you.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 3100 95th Street, Sturtevant, WI, on Saturday December 10, 2016, 12:00 P.M. with Rev. Javier Guativa officiating.
