Sandra Truax

Truax, Sandra Fay Sandra Fay Truax, 71, of Portage, passed away April 22, 2020. She was born on February 22, 1949 in Kalamazoo, MI to James C. and Mildred Lucille McDole. She and her brothers, James and Ronald, were the first set of triplets born in Kalamazoo. Sandra retired from her job at The EYE Clinic in 2014, where she worked for 24 years. She had a love for travel, spending summers on cross-country adventures with her husband and school-aged children. Then later in life, trips to New York City, Alaskan cruises and many other destinations, her favorite being Hawaii, where she got to take part in something she wanted to do her whole life: Skydiving. She also enjoyed spending her winters going to K-Wings hockey games and summers camping with her family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred McDole; brothers, James McDole and Boyce McDole; and a sister, Myra Sue McDole. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Donald Truax; father, James C. McDole; son, Mike (Sara) Truax; daughter, Lori (Steve Battenberg) Truax; brother, Ronald (Nancy) McDole; sisters, Delora "Cookie" (Robin) Haidle, Cheryl McDole, and Loretta Wheeler; many nieces and nephews; and best friends, Joyce Baldwin and Marcia Moyle. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place. She will be laid to rest in Comstock Cemetery in a private grave side service at a later date.
