Sandra E. Maddern, age 74, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017, at her home. She was born in Norfolk, VA, December 2, 1942, daughter of the late Wayne and Dixie (Nee: Pope) Pittman.

On June 18, 1960 in North Carolina she was united in marriage to Richard D. Maddern whom she met while he was enlisted in the U.S. Navy. They moved to Racine and added two daughters to their family, Debra and Leslie. In supporting her daughters, Sandra became an active parent with the New Day Drum and Bugle Corps and had served for over 30 years as corps director. She will be fondly remembered for the many young lives she touched in a positive way. In her later years she enjoyed crocheting and treasured the time spent with her family. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her daughters, Debra Marie Maddern, Leslie (Stanley) Patton; grandchildren, Taylor Maddern, Deandre Patton, Ashlynn Maddern; brother, Kenneth Pittman; in-laws, Gary (Sue) Maddern, Dan (Diane) Maddern; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Dick, December 26, 2011.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Tuesday, March 14, 2017, 11:00 A.M. with Chaplain Nancy Hodges officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet Tuesday, 10:00 A.M. until time of service.

The family wishes to thank to Dr. Bader, Dr. Engle and Heartland Hospice for their loving and compassionate care. They also wish to extend a special thank you to Renee Heider for her love and support during this difficult time.
