Bernadine “Sally” I. Inman, of Vicksburg passed away on October 11, 2018 at the age of 94. Sally was born March 9, 1924 in Kalamazoo. She was the daughter of James and Neta (Smith) Mears. She is described as strong-willed, a little feisty, and very independent. Sally enjoyed her walks and was known for walking six miles a day.

Sally is survived by her three sons: George (Juanita) Inman, of Vicksburg; Marvin (Linda) Inman, of Vicksburg; Rich (Myra) Inman, of Vicksburg; four grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Bid Erskine, of Schoolcraft and Midge (Skip) Engelman, of Portage. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Katherine Cook; four brothers: James “Dune” Mears, Justin “Sonny” Mears, Jeremiah "Bud" Mears and William “Big Bill” Mears; a half sister: Evelyn Sterling: and her longtime special friend: DeVerne Wallace.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the McCowen & Secord Life Story Family Funeral Home, Rupert-Durham Chapel, 409 S. Main, Vicksburg (269-649-1697). A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11am at the funeral home. Burial at Vicksburg Cemetery.
