Ruthann Cresswell, age 71, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at St. Monica’s Senior Living following a 3-year battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. She was born in Racine, August 8, 1946, daughter of the late Ruthven “Bud” and Marjorie (Nee: Quella) Straube.

Ruthann graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1964”. She was employed by Roundy’s for eighteen years, retiring in 2011. She also worked at Twin Disc for nine years. Ruthann was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and volunteered with the “Sanctuary Ladies.” Her pastimes included sewing, reading, flower gardening, knitting (she belonged to the Purl Girls), jewelry and basket making and rooting for the Green Bay Packers. She also enjoyed traveling to Door County throughout her life to visit family that lived there as well as many trips taken all over the United States with dear friends Jim and Sonia Thompson. She will be remembered for her Christmas Cookies and her love and devotion to her family. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her daughters, Coleen (Eric) Ruediger, Amy (John) Korako; grandchildren, Ryan and Alyssa Ruediger, Roman and Tanner Korako; her brother, Martin (Carroll) Straube; sister-in-law, Marilyn Cresswell; brother-in-law, Thomas Watson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Cheryl Watson, and former husband, Joseph Cresswell.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 16, 2018, 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St. with Reverend Steve Varghese and Reverend Fred Taggert officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet at the church prior to the mass 9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. Memorials to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, St. Monica’s Senior Living or the Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Monica’s Senior Living and Rachel, Laura and Maleka from Allay Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
