Ruth M. Chaslavsky, age 92, passed away Monday, December 05, 2016 at Shorelight Memory Care. Ruth was born in Racine, July 2, 1924, daughter of the late Peter and Barbara (Nee: Theres) Braun.

On December 28, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Charles K. Chaslavsky who preceded her in death, December 1, 2008. Ruth was employed for over thirty years as a Registered Nurse at St. Mary’s and St. Luke’s Hospitals, retiring to Florida where she and her husband enjoyed nearly thirty years. She was a longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. Her pastimes included reading, quilting, and she had a knack for nurturing beautiful orchids.

Survivors include her brother, Thomas Braun; sister-in-law, Mary Braun; brother-in-law, Art Helding; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Mary; sisters, Lois Helding, Jean (Howard) McMahon; brothers, James (Dolores) Braun, Curt Braun; sister-in-law, Nancy Braun.

A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Javier Guativa officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the church from 10:30 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. Memorials to St. Lucy Catholic Church have been suggested.
