Rudolf Mayer, age 82, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at his residence. He was born in Romania, December 4, 1934 son of the late Karl and Philomina Wudi and had been a resident of Racine since 1963.

Rudolf was employed at Harris Metals for 16 years and then at Thermal Transfer for 15 years. He was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed time at work and sports especially soccer and football. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his daughter, Heidi E. Mayer; stepson, Peter King; many other stepchildren; grandchildren; one great grandchild; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian (Nee: Reff); and 9 siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 15, 2017, 10:00 A.M. at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Ave, with Reverend Rich O’Leary officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet Friday at the funeral home 4-6 P.M. and on Saturday at the church, 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sheryll Williams, Julie Morgan, Dr. Young Choi, the Racine Cancer Center Staff, and Wheaton Franciscan Home Health and Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
