Rose E. Navratil

Rose E. Navratil passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2017. Born in Lorain, OH, Rose was a long-time resident of Racine, Wl. She moved to Naperville, IL. in July of 2015. She worked for many years at Kilbourn Gardens until her retirement in 1981. She was a tireless volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital, The Christmas House, and the Racine Women’s Club. She traveled extensively throughout the continental United States, and Alaska. She enjoyed a lively card game with family and friends, and was an avid reader. However, her greatest joy sprang from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Rose was born to James and Mary Rango on July 30, 1920, and graduated from Park High School in 1938. She met Bernard H. Navratil while they worked together at Rainfair Inc. They married on September 29, 1945, shortly after his service during World War II. They remained in Racine to raise their 3 children.

Survivors include her 3 children: Dr. Tom (Gail) Navratil, of Racine, Wl, John (Terri) Navratil, of Naperville, IL, and Patricia (Wayne) Schmidt, of Pomona, CA. Also surviving are a sister Dollee Junion, brother Frank Rango, nine grandchildren and their spouses, eleven great-granchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main Street, Racine,Wl. Visitation will occur prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Private interment will occur after the service.
