Roger Foust

94, of Batavia, Il., formerly of Kalamazoo, MI. passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 17, 2018 surrounded by his family at home. He was born February 7, 1924 in Battle Creek, MI. the son of Harley and Pearl (nee. Corliss) Foust. He was united in marriage to the love of his life Sheila Mae McCole on August 24, 1943. Roger was a WWII Army veteran. In 1965, Roger was hired to establish the data processing department for the City of Kalamazoo, MI, where he continued to work for over twenty years. Roger spent many hours serving the church and remained a devoted Lutheran throughout his life. He loved working with computers and he was an avid reader. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his loving family. Roger is survived by his loving wife, Sheila, his six children; Stephen (Nancy) Foust, Marguerite (Melvin) Deephouse, Janice Jett, Marsha (late Robert) Sikkema, Julie (Simon) Shipp, and Robin (Daniel) Ten Cate, his seven grandchildren; Jacob Foust, Brian (Jerrit) Deephouse, David (Amanda) Deephouse, Julie (Brian) Town, Kelley (Howard) McNees, Leah Olson, Hannah (Matthew) Steffic, and his eight great grandchildren; Katelynn and Jonathan Deephouse, Grace Deephouse, Casie (Joel) Areaux, Brianna Town, Karley Crawford, and Nicholas and Brandon McNees. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Darin Deephouse, and a sister, Barbara (late Marwin) Horrum. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Battle Creek, MI. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Roger's name to your local food bank or to The LAMP Ministry at St. Michael Lutheran Church in Portage, MI.
