Age 78, died February 25, 2016 in Kalamazoo. Bob was born on February 25, 1938 in Kalamazoo, the only child of Carl Henry and Ann E. (Carmen) Wichman. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School. His employment began at Colonial Bakery packing ice cream in the warehouse, then he had a commercial delivery route. After driving for the bakery, he began working for Sealtest as a driver. In 1964 he started his 30 year career at Upjohn, first as a janitor then moved to the grounds maintenance crew; where he received the prestigious William E. Upjohn Award. Bob was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish. He had many great hunting adventures in Northern Michigan including Drummond Island, New Mexico, Alberta and Alaska. His favorite destinations include New Orleans, Arizona and Wyoming. Bob was an avid golfer and a devout Michigan Football Fan. He volunteered for the 4-H, Pony of the America’s and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. On March 7, 1959, he was united in marriage with Carol “Toni” (Harrington), who survives. Also surviving are 3 children: Carl (Tammy Heath) Wichman, Mary (Mark) Haskamp and Daniel (Ari Fondeur) Wichman; 2 grandchildren: Kaytie (Ryan) Hare and Kristen (Rick Parker) Haskamp; and 2 great-grandchildren: Griffen and Gunnar Robert.
