Robert Tilma

Died March 7, 2006. Robert was born in Grand Rapids, MI on Sept. 25, 1925 the son of Lewis and Elizabeth (Jonker) Tilma. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WW II. He was a Purple Heart recipient during the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the Parchment: Little League, Lion's Club and Community Library, he enjoyed being active in cub scouting. Bob was a frequent visitor to Lake Michigan and Bostwick Lake. His hobbies included Stamp Collecting, reading, kite flying and Big Band Music. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather Edward Reus. Bob is survived by his wife Mary whom he married June 2, 1950, 3 sons and their spouses: Matthew R. & Roxanne (Rewalt) Tilma of Kalamazoo, Timothy & Debbie (Anderson) Tilma of Conway S.C., Andrew & Kim Tilma of Kalamazoo: Grandchildren: Amber, Allison, Kelley, Caroline, Mary Katherine Tilma also Shelly Hunt and Steve Hunt: Brother: Ronald E. & Margaret Tilma of Rockford, MI: Brother- in- law: David & Alice Davey : Sister- in- law Beverly Hoekstra all of Grand Rapids: Several Nieces & Nephews, Great Nieces & Nephews and Close Friends. Friends will be received Saturday March 11, 2006 from 1 until 2:30pm at PARCHMENT-REDMOND Funeral Home 2300 East G. Ave, 349-7735 where memorial services will be held Saturday at 2:30pm.Pastor Kenneth Johnson Officiating. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Parchment Little League or Parchment Community Library.
