Age 86, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 4, 2019. Bob was born in Hartford, Michigan on June 5, 1932, the son of the late Arden V. and Evangeline (Cole) Stickney. After graduation from Kalamazoo Central High School he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country honorably during the Korean War. Bob was hard-working and a man of integrity. He dedicated his life to taking care of his family and was extremely proud of his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in his yard; as well as spending time at his lake cottage up north and vacationing in Florida. On July 23, 1956, he married the love of his life, Rosemary (Peck) Stickney, he cherished every minute of the 62 years they were married. Rosemary survives, along with their beloved children, Bob (Kelly) Stickney, Becky (Barry) Beeke and Randy (Tina) Stickney; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; special sister-in-law, Marguerite Funghi; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Roxanne Stickney; granddaughter, Shelby Calhoun; sisters, Helen Stickney and Arlene Black; and brother, Arden Stickney. Interment with full military honors will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM, immediately followed by a celebration of Bob's life at the Augusta-Custer VFW Post 7956, 13540 M-96, Augusta, MI 49012. The family encourages those who are unable to attend the cemetery service to still feel welcome at the gathering at the VFW.
