Robert Shipe

Robert William Shipe, age 73, of Auburn Hills, Michigan passed away Monday December 6, 2021. Bob was born the son of Jack and Daisy Irene (Chadwick) Shipe in Battle Creek, Michigan on January 30, 1948. He served his country in Vietnam with the 199th Infantry Brigade. Bob was later awarded the purple heart medal. Bob married Linda Boykin on July 12, 1991 in Kalamzoo, Michigan. He worked for General Motors for many years, retiring in 2000. Bob was a lifetime member of VFW Post 6252 in Comstock, Michigan and an active bowler in leagues at Classic Lanes.Bob loved fishing, camping, bowling, and the casino. He especially loved his family.Bob is survived by his loving wife Linda; children Bill (Dawn) Shipe, Heather Berry, Bernice Marie, Bobby Shipe, and Stacey Duke; grandchildren Alycea Shipe, Jeremiah Berry, Zackry Berry, Danny Trayer, Ryan Trayer, Bret Trayer; siblings Shirley (Dick) Tinkler, Jack Shipe, and sister in law Dorothy Genoe, as well as additional grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his parents; brother Charles Genoe; and sister in law Sue Shipe. A graveside service will be held on Monday December 13, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery, located at 15501 Dickman Rd, Augusta, Michigan.
