Mallett, Robert C. 8/7/1938 - 1/15/2021 Vero Beach, Florida Robert C. (Bob) Mallett, 82, of Kalamazoo MI, passed away on January 15, 2021, at his home in Vero Beach, Florida after a brief illness. Bob was born August 7, 1938 to Jeff and Edythe Mallett and was raised in Bangor, Michigan. He graduated from Lincoln Christian College and lived his life serving the Lord wherever and whenever he could. Bob served as the minister at various churches in Indiana and Michigan. He later worked in the business offices at Kentucky Christian College and Indiana Vocational Technical College. However, he is most well-known for his role as the first Camp Manager at Michiana Christian (Service) Camp in Niles, MI. He served there for 16 years (1967-1983). Although decades have passed, he is still fondly remembered by former campers, faculty and staff for his hard work and his smile. He was a mentor to many and his lifelong goal was to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Bob began making wooden Chrismons for his family and friends in 1988. The Christian symbol ornaments became his mission project and thousands have been sold around the world. Bob supported various missions, campers, and people in need with the proceeds from his Chrismons. Bob is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Tim (Becky) of Kalamazoo, MI; daughter, Mary Lynn (Tom) Herrod of Joplin, MO; granddaughters Whitney Herrod (Jalal) Khader and Natalie Zwonitzer; grandsons Geoffrey Mallett and Sean Mallett; and a future great-grandson Reyan Khader. A memorial service will be held in Michigan later this year. Memorial contributions can be mailed to Michiana Christian Camp, 7383 Steinbauer Rd., Niles, MI 49120, or online at https://Michianacamp.org (indicate Robert Mallett in the comment section)
