Robert K. Luckey, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the age of 86. Bob was born May 27, 1930 in Kalamazoo to the late Clarence and Elizabeth (Howard) Luckey. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Kuilema in April of 1964, who preceded him in death. He then was united in marriage to the former Shirley Koning, on November 29, 1991, who survives. Bob was a longtime member of Haven Reformed Church and of the VFW. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, from November of 1948 until honorably discharged in November of 1952. He was an avid woodworker, enjoyed traveling and an all-around outdoorsman. Bob is survived by his wife, Shirley Luckey; daughter, Kelli (Scott) Morrison; step-children, Kathy Brockelbank, Kristy Smith, Jerry (Colleen) VanDenBos, James (Eva) VanDenBos, Robert (Joni) VanDenBos and LouAnn VanDenBos; 1 grandchild, Brandon (Dani) Morrison; 2 great grandchildren, Carter and Braelyn Morrison; several step-grand, great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Patricia (Walt) Chmiel; step-daughter-in-law, Anne (Steve) Pacic; several nieces and nephews; several sisters-in-law and 1 brother-in-law. Bob was preceded in death by 2 step-grandsons, Kevin Smith and Niel VanDenBos; his siblings, Imojean Luckey and Howard Luckey; step-son, Keith Smith; and step-sons-in-law, Michael Brockelbank and Mark Smith. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. King and Amy of Borgess Heart Center and Reverence Hospice for their wonderful care of Bob during these times. A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will take place on Saturday, May 6th, 1:00 pm at Haven Reformed Church, 5350 N Sprinkle Rd, Kalamazoo. Rev. Lin Batts will officiate. The family will greet friends for 1 hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Burial will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob's name may be directed to Kairos Dwelling or to a charity of your choice.
