Robert Eugene Larcom, 94, of Traverse City, died Sunday, February 17, 2019.

He was born on January 23, 1925 in Harrietta the son of Theodore and Beatrice Kaye (Giddings) Larcom.

Robert was a Gunner with the US Navy on a Merchant Marine Ship during WW II.

Robert retired after 38 years as a Machinist with Cone Drive. He was a member of the Cherryland VFW Post 2780 and former member of the Bendon Eagles and the Beagle Hunting Club.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, gardening and camping. He enjoyed running his Beagles, Coon Dogs and his Weimaraner. He loved being with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving are six children: Janice (Robert) Milliron, William (Betty, deceased) Larcom, Kaye Roush, Karen (Chester, deceased) Durga, Robert (JoAn) Larcom, and Penny Larcom; 21 grandchildren; of which one grandson preceded him in death; 42 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Leslie (Janet) Rickerd and sisters-in-law, Joyce (Kenneth, deceased) Larcom and Elsie (Everett, deceased) Larcom and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is also preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Clara Larcom.

An informal celebration of life luncheon will be held at Nessen City Schoolhouse, Benzie County from 1pm to 4pm, Saturday, May 4, 2019. A brief Military Honors service will be held at 1:30 pm. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Nessen City Schoolhouse Renovations, payable to Janice Milliron, c/o of Life Story Funeral Home.
