Robert Jauch

Bob Jauch, age 73, of Portage, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 with his family by his side. Bob was born in Toledo, Ohio to Margret and Albert Jauch on April 24, 1946. He graduated from Fengor High School in Chicago and attended Illinois Institute of Technology. In 1967, Bob met Marilyn Buckel and, after three weeks of dating, he proposed; last August 10th they celebrated 50 years of marriage. They raised two sons Robert and Jeff. Bob was a local businessman who, in January 1989 along with his partner Jack Budnick, founded AbsolutAire, an HVAC manufacturer located in Parchment. Bob retired from the business in 2008. In retirement, he enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experience with young local business leaders through the SCORE mentorship program. Throughout his life Bob always made time for his family first. He enjoyed wood working, golf, and his beloved Chicago sports teams, especially the Cubs. Bob is survived by his wife Marilyn and his son's families: Jeff & Paula of Grand Rapids, MI with grandchildren Adermo, Josie, Anjelino and Josh as well as two beautiful great-grandchildren, Ava and Beckham - and Robert & Susie of Edmond, OK with two grandchildren, Tommy and Danny. Bob was preceded by his parents, his brother Albert Jr. and his incredible granddaughter Chelsea. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 14, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church, 321 W South Street, Kalamazoo, MI.
