Robert Harvey

Passed away Tuesday morning, January 1, 2019 at his home. Bob was born June 23, 1933 in Chattanooga, TN the son of Lonnie and Alice (McKibbin) Harvey. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He made a career in the military for over 23 years prior to his retirement. Bob was a member of First Baptist Church of Portage and enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and his family. Bob was preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters, Betty, Marion, Lonnie Jr., V.L., Hazel, and Ruth; and a step-son, Dan Ingersoll. On January 31, 2003 he was united in marriage to Charlotte (Rambo) who survives. Also surviving are his children, Andrew (Carey) Harvey, Jody (Steve) Stoner; grandchildren, Eric, Kyle, Arielle, Casey, Brad, Lyndsey, Katelyn; great-grandchildren, Chase, Trentin, Jerzie, Abigail, and Zander; step-sons, Steve Ingersoll, Gayle Ingersoll; daughter-in-law, Debra Ingersoll; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:30am Monday, January 7 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre. Interment will follow in Ft. Custer National Cemetery with full military honors. Friends may meet the family from 2-5pm Sunday, January 6 at the Portage Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warriors Project.
