Robert W. Gabel, age 93 of Kalamazoo died on October 22, 2025. He was born on December 27, 1931, in Kalamazoo, the son of Irving and Doris (Furney) Stanton. Bob was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a career plumber and member of UA Local 357 Plumbers/Pipefitters & HVAC-R. For many years, he owned and operated Stanton and Gabel Plumbing with his father. Bob grew up in the Nazarene church and attended Haven Reformed Church. On December 17, 1971, he married Beverly (Hill) Deblecourt. His family also includes his stepsons: Rick (Beverly) Deblecourt, Don (Cathy) Deblecourt and Jim Deblecourt; his grandson Michael Hard; his sisters Charlene Grissom and Kay Gabel and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ronald Gabel. A committal service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
