Robert Buck

Robert E. Buck of Portage, MI, age 91, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Bob was born in Allegan on May 22, 1926, the son of the late Wayne & Liz (Wuise) Buck. He was a 1944 graduate of Kalamazoo High School and served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific/Asiatic Theater. He was employed by Peter Eckrich for 20 years; where he received a 17 year safe driving award. He then retired in 1986 from Bender & Loudon and was a member of Teamsters Local #7. Bob loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. On June 21, 1957, he married Kathyleen M. Hein, who preceded him in death on September 3, 2000. Surviving are his three children, Evelyn (Jim) Stratton, Dan (Rhonda) Buck, and Robin (Tim) Jackson; six grandchildren, Jenny Flynn, Steve Gorczany, Sheri Stratton, Amy Buck, Courtney Buck and Cody Jackson; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Delmer (June) Buck and two sisters, Doris Buck and Betty Miller. A private committal service was held at Mt.
