Richard Gillette

A smart, honest, witty, gentle man, Richard (Rich) Gillette, 73 years old, of The Villages, passed away Friday, May 9, 2025 at Cornerstone Hospice in The Villages.

Rich was born in Owosso, Michigan. He attended Owosso public school and graduated in 1970. He attended Michigan State University and Western Michigan University and graduated in 1975 with a BBA degree. He received his MBA degree from Western Michigan University in 1976.

He married Janet Sterling on August 28, 1976 in Kalamazoo, MI. He worked for the Family Health Center in Kalamazoo, 1st Interstate Bank in Los Angeles, and then The Upjohn Co/Pharmacia/Pfizer in Kalamazoo as a Systems Analyst from 1983 to 2004. He retired in 2004.

Rich enjoyed fishing, hunting, swimming, running, & biking. Rich was an avid golfer during his retirement years and he was able to get a hole in one March, 2022 to complete that goal. He loved our dogs and loved playing frisbee and throwing tennis balls with our dogs, Rolfie, River, Brooke, Stream, Creek, Rill and Spring.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date in Kalamazoo. Memorials can be made to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL at Moffitt.org/Donate or to a charity of your choice.
