Richard Anson

Anson, Richard L. Richland Passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Ascension Borgess Hospital. Richard was born August 2, 1935 in Cooper Township, MI the son of Clark and Cleo (Miller) Anson. He graduated from State High in Kalamazoo and retired from Roadway Express. Richard was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and enjoyed woodworking which he made the chapel alter and lectern for Borgess Place, he also enjoyed fishing, and volunteering with Ministry with Community and Loaves & Fishes. On June 11, 1955 in Kalamazoo, Richard was united in marriage to the former Anne Hazard who survives. Also surviving are five children, Scott Anson of Plainwell, Denise Martineau of Cooper Twp, Jeff Anson of Kalamazoo, David (Martha) Anson of Augusta, Greg Anson of Portage; sister, Joan (John) Steele of Plainwell; brother-in-law, Rev. Msgr. Mike Hazard of Kalamazoo; sister-in-law, Alice Prince of Lawton; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several niece & nephews; and his beloved dog Ozzy. He was preceded in death by a brother Robert (Mary) Anson. Friends will be received 5-7 pm Friday, November 27, 2020 at Parchment Redmond Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Saturday, November 28, 2020 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Interment will be in Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Loaves & Fishes, St. Ambrose Church or Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
