Rev. Robert Ackerman

ACKERMAN - Rev. Robert D. Ackerman, aged 91, of Cedar Springs, Mi. passed away and went to be with his Lord Sunday, May 31, 2009 at his home. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy; and his brothers, LeRoy Ackerman, Harold Ackerman, Richard Hopkins, Carl Ackerman, Okie Senf, and Russell Ackerman. Surviving are his wife of 13 years, Lois; His children, Susan and Tim King, Wendy and Ernest Rodriquez, Debbie and Ross Walters-Karasiewicz, Karen Kopko, Michael Kaye, and Mark Kaye; 9 grand-children; 5 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Robert was a teacher for 12.5 years teaching at Bendle Elementary School, was a machinist for several years, was a pastor at 4 churches in Michigan, attended Emmanuel Methodist Church in Burton, Mi., was a member of the Men's Club, and member of the M.E.A. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Service of Remembrance will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Calvary Community Church, 120 West 12th Street, Flint, Mi., with Rev. Sara LaRose Nettill officiating. Interment was in Courtland Twp. Cemetery in Rockford, Mi. For those who wish, memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice.
