Prem Jaglan

Prem Singh Jaglan, age 88 of Naples, Florida Dr. Prem Jaglan was born in the small village of Naultha, State of Haryana, India. He was the first person from his village to pursue post-high school education and obtained his Bachelors degree from the well renowned PUSHA institute in New Delhi, India. He then served in the Punjab Government for 13 years and obtained his Masters degree in Agricultural Science and Entomology from Ludhiana University. In his pursuit of continued higher education, he immigrated to the United States at the age of 36 in 1965, where he earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of California-Riverside. He then worked and lived in Kalamazoo, Michigan for 26 years where he was a Senior Scientist for the Upjohn Company, which later was acquired by Pfizer. During his career he was ranked in the Top 100 scientists in the United States. While in Kalamazoo, he encouraged and sponsored the majority of his family to immigrate from India to Michigan. Dr. Jaglan retired in 1995 to Naples, Florida and returned to Michigan to visit his family and friends during the summer months. Dr. Prem Jaglan died peacefully in Naples on Sunday, January, 21st, 2018, blissful and content. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Mohinder Kaur, two brothers (Ram Chander and Ram Singh), sister Suraj Kaur, three sons (Vikramjit, Samarjit, and Amarjit), eight grandchildren (Vikender, Sheena, Vikrant, Simrin, Rohini, Sonam, Akshar, Ishaan), and great-granddaughter Mia.
