Phillip Robert Farley, age 64, of Athens, MI passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. A celebration of Phillip's life will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 3 PM at Assembly of God Church in Union City. Pastor Pete Payne will officiate. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 2-4 PM at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City. Phillip was born on July 14, 1953 in Battle Creek, MI to LaVerne and Betty (Daly) Farley. He graduated from Bellevue High School in 1971. On October 16, 1998 he married Brenda Kay DeBruine in Battle Creek. She survives. Phillip retired from a job he loved with the State of Michigan, transporting foster care children. He loved U of M football, was a Tom Brady fan, and rooted for the Patriots and the Lions. A loving and caring person, Phillip loved his family and grandchildren with all his heart. He attended the Assembly of God Church in Union City for the past several years. He will be remembered for his big heart and putting others first. In addition to his wife of 19 years, Brenda, Phillip is survived by his children: Justin (Marisa) Logsdon of Hillsdale, Ashleigh Logsdon of Battle Creek, Leslie (Mark) Murphy of Olivet, Tim Otto of Olivet and Stacey (Bryan) Sewell of Illinois; grandchildren Noah, Cassity, Logan, Austin and Addy; his siblings, Linda Gardner of Bellevue, Nancy Farley of Battle Creek and Kenny (Sandi) Farley of Bellevue; and a niece, Michelle Headley of Lake City. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Quinton Otto (2017); a brother, Paul Farley; and a nephew, Scott Farley.
