Post, Peter Mesa, AZ Peter Post, 98, was born May 18, 1922 in Spring Creek, ND to Arend and Tryntje (Moes) Post, and passed peacefully into God's hands on May 9, 2021. He enjoyed fishing and boating with his family at his summer home on Long Lake Cloverdale in Berry County, MI. He bowled on the Lansing, Michigan Elks team for many years. He loved playing Cribbage and Euchre with family and community groups. He served in the Navy during WWII on the USS Chicago till it was sunk on January 30, 1943. Later he was stationed in New Caledonia and Livermore, CA until discharged. Following his time in the military, he worked 32 years for Anheuser-Busch, bakery products division, as a route salesman in SW Michigan. Peter was a 32nd degree Mason with Scottish rights at Anchor Lodge #22 F&AM in Kalamazoo, MI. Peter was Commander of VFW Post 6132 in Lansing, MI and was a lifetime member of the VFW since 1956. He helped promote professional wrestling for the VFW at the Lansing Civic Center and later became a professional wrestling referee for over 20 years. After retiring to Mesa, AZ, Peter became a member of the US Navy Cruiser Sailors Association, Phoenix Chapter. Peter is survived by his loving wife of more than 76 years, Edna "Louise" Post: daughter Arlene (James) Oisten; sons Dennis (Mary) Post and Arend (Judy) Post; two grandsons and two granddaughters; five great-grandsons and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Services were held Saturday May 15th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 622 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
