God, in accordance with His sovereign will and eternal purpose, ended Pauline's sojourn in this life on October 18, 2018. She was born on August 20, 1923 the eldest daughter to Paul and Doris Muller of Kalamazoo. As a youngster she was especially delighted when she learned to read, and subsequently became a lifelong avid reader. As a teen she enjoyed singing with a Christian choral group in various local churches. A self-described romantic, Pauline was most enamored with the works of French composer Claude Debussy. She also loved popular music from Frank Sinatra to Donna Summer. An avowed animal lover, she was particularly fond of dogs. Pauline was a 1941 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School; and attributed her long life in part to walking miles to and from the school practically every day she attended. On August 18, 1944, she and Elmer Joseph Baechle of St. Genevieve, Missouri, were married in North Carolina while he was stationed there with the U. S. Marine Corps. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Elmer in 2007; and brothers Paul Jr. and Eugene; and sister Doris. She is survived by three sons: Kenneth of Los Angeles, Alan of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Gary of Paia, Maui, Hawaii; and daughter Cheryl of Kent, Washington; and grandsons Joey and Jeff; and granddaughter Jenny.
