Paula (Lucas) Stalter

STALTER (Rockford) - Mrs. Paula (Lucas) Stalter, age 45, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2011. She was a 1984 graduate of Rockford High School with goals of becoming a teacher, wife, and mother. After meeting Chuck, they dated for 2 .5 years and were married on September 4, 1987. When the children arrived, Paula was a very doting mother who volunteered at school functions and was a member of the PTA. She took great pride in being there for her children. Paula enjoyed camping with her family, going to art and craft shows, and working together on projects around the house. She especially liked being with Chuck and visiting the Upper Peninsula. Paula is survived by her loving husband, Charles Stalter; children, Branden Stalter and Derek Stalter; her grandchildren, Adam and Zachary; sisters and brother, Lynne and Nicholas Gryka, Andrew Lucas, Laura and Dan Kulak; nieces and nephews, Audrey Bergman, Jeremy Gryka, Holly Gryka, Angela Gryka; aunts, uncles, and cousins; and in-laws, Dale and Margaret Stalter, and Chris and Jerry Gallup. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Lucas on March 8, 1992, and Leona Lucas on April 2, 2011. The service for Paula will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Pederson Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Russo officiating.
