Van Why, Mr. Paul H. Kalamazoo, MI Died Wednesday morning July 1, 2020. Paul was born March 11, 1938 in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania a son of Henry and Alice (Werkheiser) VanWhy. Years ago, he served with the Michigan National Guard for years. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1967 and was employed with the State of Michigan for 36 years before retiring. Paul was also a member of Kalamazoo Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, George VanWhy. On June 15, 1957, he was united in marriage to Florence H. (Rode) VanWhy who survives. Also surviving, 3 children, Vicki (Lyle) Crawford of Portage, Leroy (Donna) VanWhy of Lakeland, FL, and Melody Ledford of Gobles; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Vernon (Becky) VanWhy of South Bend, IN; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Private church services will be held at the Kalamazoo Baptist Church, 4445 Ravine Rd. Private visitation will be held at the church. Interment will be in Almena Cemetery.
