Vickery, Patricia J. Of Kalamazoo, MI Patricia Jeanne Vickery, age 71, passed away November 19, 2020 at Sue's Loving Care in Kalamazoo. Pat was born May 10, 1949 in Battle Creek, MI, the daughter of Lyle and Leta (Henry) Abels. She was a 1967 graduate of Loy Norrix High School and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work from Western Michigan University. On August 18, 1972, she was united in marriage to Paul G. Vickery. For over 35 years she was employed as an admissions clerk with Borgess Medical Center until her retirement in 2008. Pat was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she had served as a Sunday School teacher. In her early years she enjoyed working with ceramics and had helped out with the Boy Scouts. She was very talented with cross-stitching and sewing, even sewing her own work outfits and some clothing for her family. Pat was known to always being available to help others out, whether it be coordinating parties, baby showers, or especially caring for friends as they traversed through cancer and chemotherapy treatments. The most important part of Pat's life was her family. Surviving are her husband of 48 years Paul Vickery; their two sons Matthew and wife Kandice Vickery and Joshua and wife Heather Vickery; five grandchildren Austin and Bastian Vickery, Jonathon, Breckin and Sullivan Vickery; special friends Maribah and Louise; and several cousins. In accordance with Pat's wishes cremation will take place. A memorial visitation and memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced. Face masks and social distancing will be required at that time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Pat's memory may be directed to Lewy Body Dementia Association, or Sue's Loving Care Home.
