Patricia Stevens of Portage, MI, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, age 78. She was born in Seminole, Oklahoma on March 17, 1940, the daughter of the late John Wesley Quinalty and Dorothy Patricia (Lewis) Quinalty. She was a member of the Cornerstone Pentecostal Church in Portage. She was actively involved with the church and started a deaf ministry in 1986. She had worked for the Michigan Rehabilitation Center, where she was active in helping with handicapped services. She also worked at the Croyden Avenue School (now known as Kalamazoo RESA). She returned to college at the age of fifty and received her Associates Degree in Psychology from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. She is survived by her loving husband of fifty years, Wayne Stevens; children, Daryl (Norma) Stevens of Kalamazoo; Jerald Stevens of Oklahoma City, OK and Sheryl Plesco of Portage; nine grandchildren, Ali, Adrienne, Katie, David, Brooke, Abbie, Heather, Scott and Jay; siblings, Ada Mae (Hubert) Ferguson of Seminole, OK, Roberta Morgan of Dell City, OK, Stephan (Nancy) Quinalty of Seminole, OK, Stanley (Donna) Quinalty of Seminole, OK, and Mark Christopher (Pam) Quinalty of Seminole, OK. Patricia was preceded in death by siblings, Vera Faye Roberts, Lois Virginia Lee, Elizabeth Quinalty and David Quinalty. Friends may visit with the family from 12 1 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo, MI 49007, with the funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. Interment will take place in Little Cemetery in Seminole, OK. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association or Crohn's & Colitis Foundation.
