McGillis, Patricia 3/17/1959 - 12/1/2022 Union City Patricia C. McGillis, 63, of Union City, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at her home. Following cremation, a memorial gathering will be held by the family in the spring. The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City. Patricia was born on March 17, 1959 in Detroit, Michigan to Raven "Lewis" and Camilla (Corder) Reid. She graduated from Vicksburg High School and went on to attain an associate degree from Davenport University. Patricia married Michael McGillis on November 12, 1978 and they enjoyed 44 years of marriage. Patricia worked as a Steward for the Post Office Union. She loved the opportunities the job gave her to travel with her family and stay in lavish hotels. Patricia cared very much for her family, and she always put others ahead of herself. Her hobbies included motorcycling with her husband, watching hummingbirds, and the three bald eagles that would fly over Union Lake. She won many awards in bowling, with an average score of 194. She also loved playing the guitar for all to hear, and could often be found sitting on the front porch of her house playing "Simple Man," or various Nickelback songs. Patricia is survived by her loving husband Michael, her two children Joseph and Michelle McGillis, all of Union City. She has three surviving grandchildren from her son Joseph: Louis Frank McGillis, Alyssa Oldshield, and Michael Joseph McGillis Barnett. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, and her grandson, Eric Joseph McGillis. Memorial donations are suggested to go to the McGillis Family in care of Michael McGillis.
