Matchinski, Patricia Patricia Rose Matchinski, 82, of Kalamazoo died Fri Oct 20 from Parkinson's disease and dementia. She leaves her husband of 64 years, Leonard L. Matchinski, and her four children Donald Matchinski and his spouse Elizabeth of Marlborough, MA, Kathie Dunlap and her spouse Daniel of Haubstadt, IN, Linda Lamson and her spouse William of Des Moines, WA and Corlin Gabriel and his spouse Benjamynn of Occidental CA. Another son, Anthony Gerald, preceded her in death when he was three days old. Patricia is also survived by four grandchildren, Ethan Matchinski and spouse Natalie of St. John's Newfoundland, Canada, Daniel Dunlap and his spouse Rika of Seattle, WA, Kimberly Rohrer and her spouse Matthew of Newburgh, IN, and Zackery Gabriel of Occidental, CA; two great grandchildren, brothers Gavin and Noah Rohrer; a sister-in-law Lenore Archambeau of Mackinaw City, MI, and many nieces and nephews. The youngest child of Peter and Julia Archambeau (Hendrickson), Patricia was preceded in death by her siblings Marie Reid, Gerald Archambeau, Donald Archambeau, Joan Martin, Jean Goudreau-Kaylor, and John Archambeau. Patricia grew up in Cooks, MI in the Upper Peninsula. A resident of Kalamazoo since 1957, she worked many part-time jobs and was a homemaker for her family. As one niece described Aunt Pat, she had a big smile, a big heart and a big personality. She played the piano in a big way, too, and by ear, no less! She enjoyed snare drums and country music and could belt out a tune and yodel. Playing cards was a favorite pastime. Patricia volunteered at Chime Elementary School when her children were young. For many years, she was a member of the Kalamazoo County Extension club.A woman of strong religious faith, she was a longtime parishioner of St. Augustine Cathedral. As a cancer survivor, she volunteered at St. Augustine's school cafeteria and playground in recent years. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sat. Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Cathedral, 542 W. Michigan Ave, Kalamazoo, MI. There are no calling hours.
