Patricia Curry

Curry, Patricia Jean 1/26/1935 - 12/24/2021 Portage, MI. Patricia Jean (Blessington) Curry, age 86, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family December 24, 2021. Preceding in death were her Husband John and a Great Grandson Huxley. Patricia was born on January 26, 1935, in Ann Arbor, MI., and was adopted shortly after by Peter and Stella Blessington. Pat graduated from Galesburg MI Schools. She attended St. Mary's College in IN and Western Michigan University. While Patricia attended St. Mary's, she met John P Curry. The couple married on October 26, 1956. Pat completed her Bachelor of Education degree at WMU. She retired in 1998 from Kalamazoo Public Schools after 42 yrs. of teaching. Pat was honored to educate hundreds of young minds, all while serving her community and raising her children. She will forever be known for her fashionista style, love for family, Sheltie's, reading, movie dates and chocolate and her undeniable dedication to her faith. Patricia is survived by her five children,Joseph (Sarah)Curry, Mary(Bob) Reffitt, Kathleen (Robert) Homan, Carmen (Jeff) Triezenberg, and John Curry; 14 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Visitation Friday, January 28, 2022 at 10am with Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1150 West Centre St., Portage, MI. Private burial will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery in the Spring. Donations in Patricia's honor can be directed to St. Catherine of Siena Church.
