Patricia Block

Passed away from natural causes on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, with family at her side. Patricia was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on July 11, 1930, the daughter of the late Return & Eunice (Swinehart) Mack. She graduated from Mattawan High School and in 1978 received her nursing degree from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Patricia worked as a nurse tech for seven years at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She was a member of Hope Reformed Church, where she worked in the church library for many years and taught Sunday School for over 30 years. Patricia enjoyed playing golf and ten years of "Camp Block". On January 19, 1951, she married Harold Block, who survives. She is also survived by her children, Judith (Dave) Johnson, Pamela DeBoer and Jack (Paula) Block; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; brothers, Howard, Dave and Chuck Mack; sisters, Lois Maxam and Carolyn Russell; as well as many nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by a son, Terry Block; her sons-in-law, Steve DeBoer and Dirk Schuiteboer; brothers, Don and Stan Mack and sister, Bertha Wright. Private interment will take place at Grand Prairie Cemetery. A memorial service to celebrate Patricia's life will take place at Hope Reformed Church at a later date.
