Norman Salters

Salters, Mr. Norman D. Fort Washington, MD (Formerly of Kalamazoo, MI) Died Wednesday evening February 27, 2019 in Washington D.C. Norman was born January 6, 1936 in Allegan, Michigan a son of Louis and Della (Reno) Salters. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and was employed with Kalamazoo Public Schools for 17 years, retiring in 1999. Norman was preceded in death by his parents; and 12 siblings. On June 1, 1968, he was united in marriage to Iris K. (Woodberry) Salters who survives. Also surviving, 2 children, Michele (Kenneth) Salters Williams of Ft. Washington, MD and Dalas Wayne (Dawn) Salters of Bowie, MD; a grandchild, Dalas Wayne Salters, Jr.; a sister, Mable "Barb" Salters of Kalamazoo; nieces, Corianna McDowell and Stacy (Salters) Jackson all of Kalamazoo; and a host of other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 11 o'clock Saturday, March 9th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Visitation will be 6-8pm Friday at the chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Michigan Diabetes Association.
